The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings in Over an Century. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. The actress has also performed on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
